Mary from Dungloe International Arts Festival to host Slavic Fair

A Slavic Fair will take place during the Mary from Dungloe International Arts Festival on Friday, August 4 in Dungloe.

Polish Ambassador to Ireland, Anna Sochańska, and Ukrainian Ambassador to Ireland, Larysa Gerasko, will be coming to this event, which is the first event of this kind in Ireland.

The event is being organised by the joint effort of the local Polish and Ukrainian communities.

“Experience the vibrant cultures of Ukraine and Poland all in one day,” event organisers say. “Indulge in traditional Ukrainian and Polish cuisines, delight in a Baking Sale featuring mouthwatering cakes, cookies, and pastries. Explore the Craft Fair with unique handmade creations and regional products.

“Bring your family and kids along for a day filled with exciting activities! Engage in arts & crafts workshops, get your face painted, try out beautiful hair braiding, and learn the art of traditional hand embroidery. Enjoy games for kids and be enchanted by traditional music, dance, and art demonstrations.

“Immerse yourself in the rich heritage of Ukrainian & Polish traditions as we showcase traditional outfits and present the Polish Coal Mining & Silesia as well as Lowicz Regions in our fascinating exhibitions. Witness the talent of Polish and Ukrainian kids in their special talent show.

“We are honored to have Anna Sochańska, Ambassador of Poland to Ireland, and Larysa Gerasko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Ireland, gracing our event! This charity event aims to raise funds for an ambulance to support the Ukrainian frontline, aiding wounded civilians and soldiers to safety. Your support means the world to us! A huge thank you to all our sponsors for making this event possible”.
