Caoimhe meets All-Ireland champs - and tells them Michael Murphy is still the best

Caoimhe meets All-Ireland champs - but tells them Michael Murphy is still the best

Falcarragh’s Caoimhe Scanlon got a surprise on Monday morning in Dublin as they bumped into Sam Maguire.

Cloughaneely supporter Caoimhe, who is now five, has been attending Crumlin Children's Hospital with her parents Kevin and Eibhlin since she was born and was in for a final checkup following an operation in May. And as luck would have it, they met representatives from the Dublin side who won the All-Ireland SFC on Sunday, who were visiting the hospital.

Michael Fitzsimons, who alongside James McCarthy and Stephen Cluxton won a record-breaking ninth All-Ireland, Con O’Callaghan and Peadar Ó Cofaigh Byrne all posed for pictures with Caoimhe and Kevin in Crumlin this morning, as did manager Dessie Farrell and RTÉ’s Marty Morrissey.

Caoimhe, who is now finished up in Crumlin, congratulated Dublin on their victory but did remind them that Michael Murphy is still the best!

Dublin defeated Kerry on Sunday 1-15 to 1-13 to win Sam Maguire for the 31st time.
