The wedding ring was lost at Tra Dhearg, Cruit Island
A wedding ring has been lost at Cruit Island, Oileán na Cruite, with an appeal to the public for help.
"A message was received earlier this week to say that a man had lost his wedding ring while swimming at Tra Dhearg - a plain platinum ring," Cruit Island - Oileán na Cruite posted on Facebook.
"If out on the beach over the weekend please keep your eyes peeled as I'm sure you can imagine that loss of something so special is upsetting."
Anyone of assistance can contact the Cruit Island - Oileán na Cruite Faceook page.
But a warning was also posted in regard to swimming in the area. "Also please bear in mind that Tra Dhearg has very strong tidal currents and fast-moving sand underfoot so is not regarded to be a safe swimming location," the post added.
