A great homecoming for double All-Ireland winner Sorcha Rodgers

There was a wonderful evening of traditional music in Roddy's Bar, Glenties, on Thursday night to welcome Sorcha Rodgers/Hennessy who is enjoying a double All-Ireland success. 

Sorcha cleared the boards in the U/15 flute competitions. A large crowd was waiting for Sorcha when she arrived at 7pm in the company of her proud father Philip Rodgers and grandparents John and Bridget Rodgers.

Sorcha was accompanied on stage by local talent such as Siobhan McElhinney, Tara, Connaghan, Peter Campbell and Tony Boyle among others.

Following a few tunes the Master of Ceremonies Brian Carr interviewed Sorcha about her recent success. A traditional night took off in earnest in Roddy's following the interview and Sorcha displayed her skills on the flute, guitar and fiddle.  A great night was had by all and a great turn out for Sorcha who expressed her sincere gratitude for the very special welcome
