Gardaí urge farmers to show vigilance after sheep thefts in north-west Donegal

Gardaí are on the lookout for a sheep thief or group of thieves operating in north-west Donegal.

Milford guards have noted that the issue is occurring within their district, particularly within the Fanad/Dunlewey area.

“A number of sheep have been stolen in those areas over the past few weeks and they have been stolen in small quantities,” they said.

“These thefts are taking place during the hours of darkness. We ask farmers to be vigilant and to report any such thefts to Gardaí. We ask all residents in those areas to report any suspicious activity and any suspicious vehicles - vans in particular - to Gardaí immediately."

Milford 074-9153060 and Ballyshannon 071-9858530. In the event of an emergency please call 999 or 112.
