Two people got into difficulty coming down Muckish on Friday
The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team has praised two walkers who got into difficulty on Muckish for calling them and urged others to do the same if the need arises.
The team were dispatched to the mountain on Friday, when they were called as night fell for the walkers who were attempting to make their way back down Muckish.
“At 5:15pm on Friday, the team were tasked to locate two walkers who had become disoriented while descending Muckish,” Donegal Mountain Rescue Team posted. “A hasty team made their way to the Grotto and the two walkers' location was quickly established using Sarlock technology. The hasty team located them and provided them with extra layers and guided them off the hill to their very anxious father. The team stood down at 9pm.
“The walkers did the right thing by calling the team as soon as they knew they were in difficulties, as they had no waterproofs or torches. This meant we could locate them and guide them down to safety quickly.”
