The N56 Gaoth Dobhair Road, which is situated between Greene’s corner and the Dungloe council office
Councillor Micheál Choilm Mac Giolla Easbuig has confirmed that funding is secured to reinstate the street lights on N56 Gaoth Dobhair Road, Dungloe.
As discussed at the Glenties MD meeting funding from the TII has been confirmed and civil works to reinstate the lights will commence shortly.
“I was glad to be in a position to continue to fight to get these lights back up in running, a very important piece of infrastructure in the town,” Councillor Micheál Choilm Mac Giolla Easbuig shared.
The street lights have been out of order for a long period and the N56 is an extremely busy part of Dungloe where many pedestrians and drivers have been left in the dark.
The particular stretch lies between Greene’s corner and the An Clochán Liath (Dungloe) council office. On this road there are several businesses, the river walk and a community hospital.
Repairing the street lights leads to increased visibility, therefore making pedestrians feel safer whilst passing through and giving drivers a clearer path which ultimately reduces hazards.
