A west Donegal woman has completed 100 successive days of swimming to raise funds for the Dungloe Community Hospital Patient Comfort Fund.

In November, Elaine Boyle from Ranafast decided to swim the 30 days at Boat Strand near Carrickfinn in support of her fellow swimming pal Denis Sheridan who was raising awareness for the great cause that is Pieta. However, Elaine decided to continue her daily ritual towards Christmas before then opting to continue until she reached the 100-day milestone.

Elaine hit the 100-mark on Friday, when 100 gathered to cheer her home, fresh from the benefits of sea swimming in winter through her own journey and daily swims, as well as raising money for Dungloe Community Hospital Patient Comfort Fund. The GoFundMe has already passed €7,500 and you can donate to the fundraiser here, which brings the total monies raised to over €11,000.
