The Sterritts presenting the cheque for the proceeds to Naomi Fitzgibbon
The Sterritt family have presented a cheque for €23,000 to the Motor Neuron Society.
The money was raised following a coffee morning held in the Ozanam Community Centre in Dunfanaghy earlier this year, with the cheque passed onto Naomi Fitzgibbon, Director of Nursing and Services Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
"Well what can we say except a massive thank you to everyone,” the family said. “To think a tea day could raise €23k is just crazy. Thank you to everyone who helped on the day and in the run-up, everyone who donated prizes for the raffles, the Ozanam Centre and their staff and everyone who came and supported such a great cause. Thank you also to Dunfanaghy Bowling Club who also had a raffle and donated €550 to our total".
