The Falcarragh Celtic Supporters’ Club Summer Cup has raised €12,000, which will be split between two local schools.

The competition in memory of club members Joe Kelly and John Harley was held last month and won by Creeslough Celtic, with €6,000 each going to Gortahork and Falcarragh National Schools.

“Well folks, all the money has been counted, eventually, and we had our presentation of funds,” event organisers said. “We're delighted to announce that we raised a grand total of €12,000. The Falcarragh and Gortahork National Schools will receive €6,000 each. The presentation was made to the principals of both schools, Patricia Harley and Stephen Cannon. Also pictured are Margaret and Amy Doohan, representing our main tournament sponsor, The Shamrock.

The 2024 Falcarragh CSC Summer Cup has been our most successful, in terms of money raised, since the tournament began in 2019.

“The Falcarragh Summer Cup Committee want to say a final thanks to sponsors, volunteers, refs, teams and anybody who donated money this year,” the committee added. “We know it's not easy in current times but your generosity is very much appreciated. Go raibh maith agaibh uilig. We look forward to seeing you all next year.”
