The late Mícheál 'Roycee' Roarty was remembered in Dunlewey on Sunday with a football match and the unveiling of a memorial bench.
Following a football match at Dunlewey Celtic, members of the Donegal Vocational School panel of 2011 unveiled a commemorative bench for teammate Mícheál. Fr Seán Ó Gallchoir spoke at the unveiling and blessed the bench and manager John Joe O'Shea performed the unveiling and cut the ribbon. Donegal defeated Monaghan in the final in February 2011 at Kildress, Co Tyrone, on a 3-8 to 1-6 scoreline.
Mícheál died in a road traffic accident along with friends John Harley, Shaun Harkin and Daniel Scott at Gleannhulaigh near Magheraroarty on January 27, 2019.
