Man in his sixties drowned off Donegal's west coast

A man in his sixties has drowned at sea off Donegal’s west coast.

Gardaí and local emergency services were called to an incident at Marameelan, Dungloe, shortly before 8pm yesterday.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana stated: “Arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination, and the local coroner has been notified. A man had encountered difficulty in the water at the location and was subsequently taken from the water. He was later pronounced deceased.”
