Ronan Mulligan and his son Cian
Ronan Mulligan is one of the hopefuls in the CLG An Clochán Liath Quid Game fundraising event and has chosen two charities close to his heart.
Originally from Warrenpoint, Co Down, Ronan is the manager of Dungloe GAA club’s senior hurlers and is raising funds for Little Blue Heroes Foundation Donegal and the new sensory room in Scoil Chróine Dungloe, both of whom have helped his and his wife Majella's son Cian.
Thirteen-year-old son Cian attends Scoil Chróine and is one of the county’s Little Blue Heroes as an honorary member of An Garda Siohana - much to the pride of his parents and siblings, Fiadh (3) and Odhrán (18).
To raise money, Ronan is raffling a Donegal Nicky Rackard winners’ jersey, Donegal goalkeeper Shaun Patton’s signed gloves, a 2024 Ulster Champions signed jersey and a football signed football by Michael Murphy and the rest of the panel. Tickets are €5 each or three for €10 and can be purchased online here or on Ronan’s Revolut, 087-6007365.
“Cian goes to Scoil Chróine and it would be great to help them with the sensory room there,” Ronan says. “And since passing out as a Garda, the Little Brlues Heroes have been brilliant to him.
“A big thank you to everyone who helped with prizes, from Shaun Patton, hurling manager Mickey McCann, Michael Murphy and our own Mark Curran here in Dungloe who is with the Donegal footballers and helped out a lot.”
The draw will take place on Saturday evening, December 21, before the Ronan partakes in the Quid Games event itself on Saturday, December 28 as one of the 24 hopefuls aiming to win €10,000 for their chosen charities. Doors open at 7pm at McCafferty’s marquee, with the event starting at 8pm sharp, followed by the Muttley Crew.
