Keith Boyd presents the cheque on New Year’s Eve at Casadh an tSúgáin
A Carrickfinn man who took to the roads every single day of 2024 has presented a cheque for over €5,000 to Cancer Flights from Donegal to Dublin following his fundraiser
Keith Boyd decided to run/walk every day of the calendar year last year and even took part in a half-marathon in Prague, the capital city of Czechia - formerly known as the Czech Republic - in April. He followed that up with participation in the Donegal Half Marathon and the Galway Bay Half Marathon.
Keith, who represents Rosses Athletic Club, and Bríd ‘Winnie’ Sweeney completed their final walk on New Year’s Eve at Casadh an tSúgáin.
Bríd, who is from Loughanure, set a target of €5,000 at the start of last year and as she continued to put in the steps with great support, that target swole. When the money was counted an amazing €23,675 was gathered, also for Donegal Cancer Flights and Services.
“Just a final thank you to everyone for their support the last year,” Keith posted. “I cannot believe the support from everyone my final amount raised for Donegal cancer flights is €5307.60, it is so much more than I was expecting so thank you to everyone who donated, liked or shared in any way it means so much and the money will now help so many people.”
