St Michael’s GAA club have paid their respects following the passing of Don Langan from Creeslough.
Don, from 3 Main Street, Creeslough, will be sadly missed by his loving wife Annette, daughter Shauna, son Aaron, grandson Zak, son-in-law Steven, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
“We at Naomh Micheál express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Don Langan on his untimely passing,” St Michael’s GAA club posted.
“Don was not only a valued player and club referee for many years but also a beloved figure who brought so much joy and laughter to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His presence lit up any room he entered. Don leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication and fond memories, a gentleman who always looked on the bright side of life.
“Our heartfelt condolences to his wife Annette, daughter Shauna and husband Steven, grandson Zack and son Aaron - may Don Rest in Peace.”
Don was the St Michael’s club referee and also ran courses for officials as Donegal GAA referee’s recruitment officer.
Only last month, Pat Walsh, the Donegal GAA Referee’s Administrator, praised Don’s work in his annual report at Donegal GAA annual convention: “Progress is the result of huge commitment on the part of our Recruitment Officer, Don Langan, who has worked his socks off to get us where we are now. Don showed patience and understanding to the clubs and individuals that were approached, spending time and genuine goodwill with all.”
Don's remains will be reposing at the Langan family home at 54 Massinass Cottages, Creeslough, F92F6V6 from Monday, January 20, at 12.00 noon. Funeral Mass in St. Michael's Church, Creeslough on Wednesday, January 22 at 11am with burial afterwards in Doe Cemetery.
