Jimmy Campbell
An evening of Donegal traditional fiddle music 'Ceol na gConnallach' in memory of the late Jimmy Campbell is set to take place at Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair, Na Doirí Beaga, on December 27 at 8.30pm.
Jimmy Campbell is regarded as one of Donegal's most influential traditional musicians of his time. Stemming from an exceptionally musical family the Campbell household was a haven for musicians. The musician would have played music with the late Mickey and Jimmy Doherty.
Jimmy Campbell passed away on January 22, last.
Well-known and respected musician Ciarán Ó Maonaigh will be master of ceremony on the night and many of Jimmy's musical friends will be present to entertain on the evening. It is certain to be an evening not to be missed.
Family members and friends are sure to enjoy old recordings and photographs which will be shown during the course of the evening. The evening is organised as part of Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair.
Organisers of the evening are grateful for the annual support they receive from An Comhairle Ealaíon.
