Lorraine McCauley entertained fans with her Christmas Country and Gospel choir
An evening of songs, joy and musical inspiration was held in Dorrian's Hotel, Ballyshannon just before Christmas.
Ireland's Songbird and Honky Tonk Queen Lorraine Mc Cauley wishes to thank everyone who attended her Country & Gospel Christmas Concert. Unfortunately, the weather was not in their favour but the show must go on!
On the Evening, Lorraine entertained the audience with her country music releases and duets with singer /songwriter Mr Cliff Austin all the way from England, including We Believe in Happy Endings and Your Perfect Love written by Cliff Austin.
There were beautiful Christmas songs performed, and Lorraine played The Town I Loved So Well on piano.
Lovely songs of Inspiration were sung by Country & Gospel Legend Mr Leslie Mathews.
In the second half of the show, Lorraine paid tribute to the Queen of County Music, Ms Loretta Lynn who sadly passed away in October. Lorraine sang Lorretta's hits Don't Come Home a Drinkin’, Your Lookin at Country and Loretta's favourite song Blue Kentucky Girl.
“Thank you to the proprietors Mary, Ben and Staff for their kind hospitality and for all their help on the evening,” said Lorraine.
“To Mr Jim and Irene Kerr for their help and support with the show, to Liam, Denise and Clare at Mr G's and Cleary's garage also.”
Lorraine extends a special thank you to her piano student Ms Lois Griffith who performed beautifully a classical short piece on the piano on the evening. She also thanks Steve Bloor Media and her Caroline for all her help behind the scenes and front of house.
Lorraine particularly thanked all her family, friends and followers who made it to the concert. She was very humbled to have performed to such a loving and beautiful audience.
You will see Lorraine performing at her Spring Country Dance when the weather will get a little better!
Lorraine's latest release can also be requested on your local radio station. The song is called Come on Down (To the Border Town) written and composed by Lorraine Mc Cauley and Cliff Austin.
The song came about when Lorraine was contacted by Mr Frank Sweeny, a Film Director from Dublin. Frank had heard and seen Lorraine singing and was quite impressed. He wanted Lorraine to write a country music song for his short film called
2 Channel Land which premiered at Cork Film Festival on November 19. Lorraine sang the song in the film and also played a small part in the film which was very enjoyable and indeed a great experience.
However, Lorraine, is no stranger to the stage as while living in the Isle of Man after her college days, Lorraine was part of the Manx Operatic Society for many years playing parts in Musicals and playing keyboards with the house band performing Musicals at the Manx Gaiety Theatre.
She also got the opportunity to Irish Dance in a scene as a film extra in the film The Boys from Co Clare starring Andrea Corr.
“Where there is music, there is love,” quotes Lorraine!
You can follow Lorraine's music on Facebook, YouTube, Spotify and the usual streaming social media platforms.
Lorraine wishes everyone a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful Blessed New Year.
