A Classic Car Show and Shine is something not to miss in Cashelard this Sunday, raising funds for charity.

Last year, this show raised €10,000 combined for Cancer Care Northwest and The Bluestack Foundation. This year's event, which starts at 12 noon, is in aid of the Solace Cancer Support Centre and the Dillon Feely Fund.

The Solace Cancer Support Centre in Donegal Town offers emotional support and practical help for people who have been diagnosed with cancer, or any life-threatening illness. This support is for families, friends, caregivers and the bereaved.

Dillon, 28, from Ballyshannon, suffered horrific, life-changing injuries when the digger he was operating came into contact with an overhead power line last year. He was operating a truck-mounted crane which came into contact with a high-voltage overhead power line crossing a narrow country road. Dillon was airlifted to St James Hospital in Dublin, where he is currently being treated for severe burns. Dillon is described as ‘a loving partner, a father of one and only child of Connie and David Feely.’

There will be prizes on the day, for the first, second and third-best presented car, music by MC Billy Grimes and a raffle and barbeque.
