Call out for Donegal food producers for celebratory Donegal 550 Town market

A food market will take place as part of Donegal Town 550 celebrations

Donegal Town is celebrating its 550th Anniversary by hosting a packed weekend of celebrations.

The programme runs from Friday to Sunday, October 11 to 13, with a full programme of activities planned.

Part of the celebrations will incorporate food themed events including cookery demonstrations, children’s activities and workshops. And there will be a Donegal Food Market which will be an opportunity for Donegal producers to showcase and sell their products.

The market will take place over two days, Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13, running from 11am to 5pm daily on the Diamond.

This really will be a flavour of Donegal, with allocation limited to food businesses and producers within the country.

Any producer who would like to be part of this market is asked to register the interest.

A spokesperson said: “Vendors will need to bring their own pop-ups, tables and chairs. Vending is limited to Donegal food businesses and producers.

“Preference will be given to businesses and producers  who can also provide evidence they have their own equipment as above.

“Also for social media platforms a  photograph of your normal display would be beneficial.

"These are full day events with strict timing for set-up and dismantling. More details available prior to the event.

“If you are interested, please send an email to development@donegaltown.ie and we will send on the registration form and payment details.”

Cost is €30 for one day or €50 for both days.

“You decide what suits you best,” the spokesperson said.

“Please note that space is limited.

“If you would like to further discuss anything regarding this, please contact Mary on 087 1777140.”

More information on activities taking place throughout the year can be found on the Donegal Town 550th Facebook page.
