A new date has been set for the Rossnowlagh Sand Sculpture Competition.

Due to the bad weather last weekend, this event which was due to take place as part of the Kindercounties Festival had to be postponed. It has been rescheduled to Sunday, September 1, coinciding with the monthly beach clean.

The competition takes place on Rossnowlagh Beach in front of the Surf Club.

A spokesperson said: “Whether you're a seasoned sand artist or just looking to have some fun, everyone is welcome to participate!

“Come along, show off your skills, and enjoy a day of sun, surf, and sand.

“Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to be part of a memorable event at Rossnowlagh Beach. Bring your friends, family, and your best sand-sculpting ideas and let's make this a day to remember.

“See you there!”

Registration is at 12 noon, with judging at 2pm. Teams can be up to four people, with an adult supervisor required for under 12s. This is a free event with prizes for the most creative sculptures. There are three categories, under 12, 13 and over, and family.
