On Sunday, September 28, Conwal Parish Church hosts two Harvest Celebrations. At 10:30am, there will be an All-Age Harvest Service and at 7:30pm, a Traditional Harvest Thanksgiving.

The preachers at these services are husband and wife team Revd Chris Matchett (evening) and Mrs Ali Matchett (morning). Revd Chris and Ali are based in the Parish of Clondevaddock and Mevagh.

Between these Harvest Services is the Donegal Hospice Remembrance Service, which takes place at 3pm.

Speaking about the busy weekend ahead, the Revd Adrian Dorrian, Rector of Conwal and Gartan, said: “We hope that people from across our community will feel welcome at our services this weekend.

“Harvest Thanksgiving is a special time, especially in communities rooted in farming like ours here in Donegal. There is also, I hope, a neatness in a weekend that sees the launch of our quiet, reflective healing service on Friday 26th and also the Hospice Remembrance Service on Sunday afternoon.

“People who are wondering about the Service of Prayer for healing will find a quiet, reflective space where we will have some music, some liturgy and scripture and an opportunity for anyone who wishes to receive prayer for themselves or on behalf of another.

“It is such a privilege for us to have a presence in the centre of our town, and we hope these services will encourage people to join us, even as a one-off. Everyone is welcome!”

Friday 26th September: 1pm Service of Healing Prayer

Sunday 28th September: 10:30am All Age Harvest Celebration; 3pm Donegal Hospice Remembrance Service and 7:30pm Traditional Harvest Thanksgiving
