Sadness at death of Rossnowlagh Franciscan Friar, Fr Vincent Gallogley

There is much sadness in south Donegal following the death of Fr Vincent Gallogley, Franciscan Friary, OFM Rossnowlagh, and formally of West Port, Ballyshannon. 

He passed away peacefully in the gentle and exceptional care of the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff of the Northwest Hospice on Sunday, September 21. 

Fr Vincent is predeceased by his parents James and Patricia, brother Reggie, sisters Eileen and Carmel and nephew Paul. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and the Franciscan community.

The funeral cortège will arrive on Tuesday to the Franciscan Friary, Rossnowlagh for reception prayers at 4pm, reposing from 4.30pm to 6pm.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday in the Franciscan Friary at 11am with service of interment in the Friary grounds.

Tributes have been paid on the Franciscan Friary Facebook page, with one person describing him as ‘priest who touched many lives with his compassion and service.’
