Speaking in Advance of the event, the EAPN’s Policy Officer Clare Daly said: “ We are very excited to be hosting this meeting in Donegal. As the UN focuses on the Eradication of Poverty, in Ireland that should put the focus on Donegal which is consistently at one of the top-spot in terms of poverty levels in Ireland. Attention needs to be drawn to the devastating statistics and the serious impact that poverty is having on so many people in the area. It is simply unacceptable that this situation continues.”

“We are organising the meeting,’ she said, “to give a voice to anyone to come along and discuss what poverty in Donegal means to them, and what can be done to address it? We are very grateful to the Intercultural Platform and Letterkenny Library for their assistance.”
