The next meeting of the Ballybofey, Stranorlar & District Historical Society on Monday
The next meeting of the Ballybofey, Stranorlar & District Historical Society will take place in the Henderson Hall (F93 XV29) Stranorlar on Monday, January 26, at 8pm.
This month's special guest speaker is Rev Raymond Blair. The talk is entitled 'The mysterious drowning of Bella Brooks in 1876.'
Rev Blair will examine the historical background to the ballad about the drowning of Bella Brooks, and also try to establish what really happened to her, why her body, dressed in her wedding outfit, ended up floating in the River Finn at Doneyloop. This promises to be a very interesting talk and is free and open to everyone.
