Letterkenny is set to gather this weekend to honour one of Ireland’s most enduring customs.
On Saturday, January 31st, the Pastoral Centre Hall will host a special evening dedicated to the craft of St Brigid’s crossmaking. This event, on the eve of St Brigid’s Day, aims to preserve a cultural heritage that has been woven into the fabric of Irish life for centuries.
To accommodate as many participants as possible, two distinct sessions have been scheduled for the evening, with the first beginning at 7pm and a second following at 8:30pm.

The Pastoral Centre Hall, located conveniently opposite St Eunan’s Cathedral, will provide all the necessary materials for attendees.
Fresh rushes will be supplied to all participants, and the atmosphere will be bolstered by the inclusion of light refreshments served in the spirit of St. Brigid’s renowned hospitality.
"It’s so often the Grandparents that pass on these skills," the organisers said. "So please bring your family, along to keep this beautiful tradition alight at either. Crosses will be blessed, and of course, in true hospitable St Brigid fashion."
