New book from Donegal author to be launched at Christmas "Hooley in the Hall"

New book from Donegal author to be launched at Christmas "Hooley in the Hall"

The new novel by Melissa Riordan

Donegal novelist Melissa Riordan will be signing her new historical novel, Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon, this Wednesday, December 14th, at 8.15pm at Leghowney Community Centre.

The Christmas “Hooley in the Hall” will take place following the launch.

Proceeds from the evening will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul.

Melissa wrote Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon originally as a screenplay, but later decided to write it as a novel instead, keeping the same story and the epic romance that drew the interest of Hollywood film producers.

Later, she and her husband moved to Ireland, settling in a cottage near Lough Eske, a move Melissa knew had to happen in order to finish the book.

Once the book was completed, the couple planned the launch with friends they met at the October Hooley.

Timothy is publishing the novel in Ireland and on Amazon.com.

The couple used the services of Cavern Design in Donegal Town, and Browne Printers in Letterkenny to produce the special first edition which is being sold at a discount, €10, at the launch.

“We hope everyone who comes for the launch will bring their dancing shoes and stay for the Hooley,” they said.
