Glenfin have been awarded the points, subject to appeal, by the Donegal Competitions Control Committee

Glenfin have been awarded the points after appealing their Division 1 result against Four Masters to the Donegal Competitions Control Committee (CCC), DonegalLive understands.

The pair met on May 16 in Páirc Taobhoige, with the end result being confirmed as a draw by referee Ryan Walsh at 1-13 apiece, which didn’t match the scores of the media present and members of both backroom teams.

Glenfin went in 1-10 to 0-9 ahead at the break, but 1-9 to 0-9 on the referee's score.

Frank McGlynn’s men were then 1-12 to 0-11 ahead on the scoreboard, and on the score of the media in the second half, when the referee addressed it and assured that Glenfin had one point less scored.

And while the hosts still led by two coming into added time, a Patrick Reid goal gave Four Masters the lead, and Odhran O’Connor hit back to level the game.

Glenfin have since appealed the result, and both teams were informed of the decision made by the CCC, who were unable to comment on the matter.

Four Masters are still in a position to appeal if they so wish.
