Moville 0-7 Na Rossa 3-19

Na Rossa made it four wins from four to advance to the Junior A Championship semi-finals at the expense of Moville in Moville.

Na Rossa paved the way for victory in the opening half, scoring two goals against the Inishowen-based side.

Former inter-county player Adrian Hanlon's left foot was kicking into gear early. Pointing from just inside thirty metres.

If Hanlon's left foot was in gear early, so too was Christian Bonner's right. Two points from a similar distance put the away side in control early on.

The opening goal came after thirteen minutes, and it was a fine solo effort from Conor McCahill, fending off a number of tackles to get in on goal. His shot was partially saved by ‘keeper Dylan Doherty, but the ball would find the net.

A prominent feature of the opening half was Na Rossa turnovers and a real intent on the counter-attack. Daniel Martin Melly's tackling in particular stood out throughout the match. Eugene Molloy was fielding well at midfield.

Danny Murphy scored Moville's opening point of the half after sixteen minutes, thirty metres out to leave the score 1-6 to 0-1.

After twenty minutes, Na Rossa had a second goal through Christian Bonner. The home side finally succumbed after numerous attempts had been well blocked. Bonner rattled the net from close range to leave it 2-8 to 0-1.

Seamus Boyce further extended Na Rossa's lead when he bagged three of the next four points, one of them well assisted by Odhran Bonner, who got his pass away despite the close attention of the Moville defenders.

Moville responded with a well-taken two-pointer from Malachy McDermott just over fifty metres out. Kieron Doherty's pinpoint pass into Adrian Hanlon was converted for a Na Rossa point, but the home side closed out the scoring before the break through Danny Murphy to leave the match 2-13 to 0-4.

Na Rossa kept the scoreboard ticking as the second half got underway. John McDyre and Conor McCahill each added a point from play.

Christopher Hegarty registered the opening score of the second half for Moville, leaving the score 2-15 to 0-5.

Na Rossa then would find the net a third time. Probably the pick of the goals in the match. A patient team build up led to Oisin Caulfield selling a timely dummy to get into space, driving at the Moville defence, laying it off to Conor McCahill who found the net in fine style to get his second goal of the match.

Caillou O'Kane would get consecutive points for the home side, with Na Rossa substitute Fionn Bonner also scoring a brace of points within minutes. Na Rossa goalkeeper Ben Boyle made a fine save to deny Danny Murphy a goal, while the post denied O'Kane finding the net for the home side when his soccer-style attempt just fell short on accuracy.
