In pictures: Evening to remember as St Naul's Pipe Band Ardaghey celebrate 80 years

Following mass at the local church at St Naul’s Chapel, Ardaghey, there was a commemorative tree planting before refreshments were served in Inver Community Centre and Donegal manager Jim McGuinness was among the well-wishers, sending a video message before his side are due to face Mayo in Roscommon today.

“Just a quick message to wish you a massive congratulations,” he said. “An absolutely fantastic achievement, hope you all have an amazing celebration and enjoy every minute.”

Formed on St Patrick’s Day in 1945, the band quickly became a key feature of local events and has gained recognition far beyond the Donegal borders.
