There was another big crowd in attendance at Lifford Stadium on Friday night where there were eight races on the card.
Among the highlights of the night was Blackstone Comet’s first career win in four starts in the opening sprint when the Thomas Hasson owned dog was a convincing winner ahead of Eunan McBride’s Smurfing Zorro in 18.01.
The Dessie Kerrigan trained SheSomeThingEls also recorded a first competitive win in another 325, in 17.77, which was a great outcome for Tipperary owner John McKenna. Local man Paul Whyte saw his Friday's Arista triumph in a 525 in 29.27.
It was a case of leaving the best finish to last as in the final race Drumcrow Winnie managed to hold on at the line to bear Last Regards by half a length with Friday's Scarlet just three-quarters of a length behind.
Next up is a ten race card this Sunday evening (April 30) with two finals on the race card which has been extended from eight to ten races. The action gets underway at 6.00 pm.
