Donegal's last five managers and their first match in charge in the McKenna Cup

Paddy Carr is in the manager's dugout for Donegal for the first time tomorrow when his side take on Down in Newry in the Dr McKenna Cup - here's a reminder of how the last five Donegal managers got on in their opening fixture and the teams they went with

No manager has ever been judged on how they fared in the Dr McKenna Cup but its the competition where things get rolling every year.

New Donegal boss Paddy Carr gets his first taste of competitive action tomorrow at Pairc Esler in Newry, where Down provide the opposition. Then, on Wednesday, Monaghan come to Ballybofey for the first home fixture of the new era.

We take a look back at the last five Donegal managers - Declan Bonner, Rory Gallagher, Jim McGuinness, John Joe Doherty and Brian McIver - to recall their first outings.
