‘Big’ Eddie O’Donnell from Cruit Island was a teammate of White’s at Dungloe and won back-to-back Donegal SFC titles in 1957 and 1958. Was a member of the tunnel tigers, who worked in the Shetlands so it meant a 10–year sabbatical. He debuted as a clubman of St Crone’s in 1946 in a 5-8 to 0-3 defeat to Cavan and his second championship appearance was a decade later, with Donegal going down to Monaghan 0-14 to 1-5. Was also a fine all-round track and field athlete and fished when home out of Kincasslagh.
