There was excitement aplenty for the Letterkenny & District GAA Primary Schools’ Games finals, which took place at O'Donnell Park in Letterkenny

The Letterkenny & District GAA Football Primary Schools’ Games finals took place on Monday at O’Donnell Park, the home of St Eunan’s GAA club, with 16 teams taking part. Please click on the arrows to go through the gallery

In the boys’ cup, Glenswilly NS were the winners of the Susan Carr Memorial Cup, after overcoming Illistrin in the final, with Letterkenny’s Scoil Colmcille taking home the shield after their victory over Scoil Mhuire Derrybeg NS.

Lurgybrack boys were crowded winners of the plate competition following the final against Gaelscoil Adhamháin and Scoil Naomh Fionán defeated Educate Together in the boys’ bowl.

The winners of the girls’ cup - named in memory of Elaine Winston Friel - were Stranorlar NS, following their success against Stramore NS. The shield was lifted by Gaelscoil Adhamháin, who got the better of Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal.

Creeslough NS were the side who took the girls’ plate home after meeting Glenswilly NS and Scoil Naomh Fionán saw off Lurgybrack in the final of the bowl.

Thanks were also expressed to St Eunan’s College teacher Peter Devine and Kai, Pauric, Caolan, Liam, Cormac from transition year and Aoibhin McCauley from Loreto Letterkenny, as well as sponsor Kevin Gallinagh from Letterkenny Tool Hire & Sales.

"Thanks to everyone who took part and we had some great days of football," Eddie Brennan, Games Promotion Officer at St Eunan’s GAA club, said whilst making the presentations.
