The President of the LGFA, Donegal's Micheál Naughton was among the special guests at the launch of a fantastic new book which celebrates the 25th anniversary of Letterkenny Gaels GAA club.
The launch on Sunday night was also attended by many who played their part in the success of a club that was formed back in 1996.
The four founding members, James Frain, Enda Mannion, Garry Coll and Michael O'Malley were among the guest speakers and they gave a fascinating insight into the early days of the club after they first came up with the idea of forming the Gaels.

The book, which was edited by club member Jim McGlynn, is a brilliant collections of stories, photographs and personal memories.

Gaels played at a number of pitches around the town before they finally settled in their current home at the Glebe. How they came about locating there is a brilliant story and it's thanks to a unique relationship with Letterkenny Rugby Club who also share the facilities.

Jim Moore, a long time member of Letterkenny RFC was among those who addressed Sunday night's launch.

Also present was Jackie Reilly, the first ever senior team manager at Gaels. Former players, coaches and team managers were also there too.

Tributes were also paid to those who played their part in developing hurling, camogie and ladies football at the club, as well as the off-pitch activities like Scor and drama.

Former club members who have since gone to their eternal reward were also remembered, with special mention for Liam Emery RIP who was such a stalwart at Gaels in the club's early days.

The book is now on sale at various outlets and from club members and is priced at a very reasonable €20.
