Joel Bradley Walsh (MacCumhaill's)
A splendid Sigerson Cup for what was then known as Letterkenny Institute of Technology (now ATU Donegal) catapulted Joel Bradley Walsh to national attention. Maxi Curran’s LyIT side were beaten in a spectacular second round clash by a star-studded University of Limerick side that included David Clifford on a 2-23 to 3-15 scoreline at the Connacht AirDome in January.
Bradley Walsh scored 3-2 under the roof and there was plenty of speculation, considering he was also on the books of Finn Harps at the time before signing for Institute in the Irish League. He was part of Declan Bonner’s panel with Donegal seniors this year, although is still waiting for his inter-county debut.
Last Sunday he kicked 0-7 as MacCumhaill’s overcame Milford to gain promotion to Division 1 for next season and those around the Twin Towns will be excited by the thought of a forward line that will soon include Oisin Gallen and talented teenager Kevin McCormack.
