Club-by-club guide to the Junior A Football Championship

Downings won the Donegal Junior A title last season and have since made it to Division 1 of the All-County Football League, with the competition starting again this weekend

Naomh Colmcille
Manager: Mangerless
Last year championship: Began 2021 with a loss in the spillover IFC relegation play-off from the previous year and couldn’t work their way out of the JFC.
This year's ACFL: Fifth in Division 3
First two opponents: Home to Letterkenny Gaels; away to Moville
Prospects: With manager Stephen Davenport having stepped aside towards the end of their Division 3 campaign, Mark Callaghan returned to the hotseat on a caretaker basis for the draw with Carndonagh and the Newtowncunningham side drew their last outing at Na Rossa too. Despite the upheaval their fifth place finish in Division 3 could’ve been worse but with the team possibly appointing a manager from within, a clash with Letterkenny Gaels is a tough opener.
Star man: Daniel Clarke
