The struggles of Pettigo have been well documented for many a year, as recently as the weekend before last when Pettigo chairman Colin McFarland, in the wake of his side’s round one loss to Moville, said “spirit and that is what keeps us going.”
In round two, with Pettigo taking on Na Rossa, the border side had to call on the services of 51 year-old McFarland and Pauric Colton at 53 to complete their panel, with 12 regulars missing. McFarland made a late cameo off the substitutes’ bench in a 5-23 to 1-2 defeat at sunny Madavagh. AF
