Panto season is well underway in Moville with the Musical Society’s production of Dick Whittington.
This is an old one but a good one and was last performed in St. Eugene’s Hall 40 years ago. So far the show is drawing growing audiences and receiving excellent reviews. Please click on the arrows to go through the gallery
It is produced again this year by John McIntyre and written and directed by Mandie Bredin. Choreography is by Sheila McLaughlin and the musical director, local musician Conor Gillespie, is supported each night by an accomplished band.
The cast features some familiar faces with Gerard McMonagle in the title role and Ciaran Boyce as the colourful Dame Wee Buns.
New to Moville stage is Rikki Van Den Berg who gives a hilarious performance as The Cat.
What really makes this year’s show special is the participation of a large number of local young people in the senior and junior choruses. Watch out for these talented kids; they are future stars!
The show will run each night until Sunday, February 4. Showtime is 8pm with doors open 7:15pm. Matinee performance on Sunday at 3pm with doors open at 2:15pm. Tickets are still available from Gillen’s supermarket but are selling fast so snap them up and don’t miss your chance to enjoy a night of laughter and music.
