Primary School Award: Dromore National School, Killygordon
Dromore is an inclusive school where physical activity is valued, promoted and enjoyed by everyone regardless of their ability. There are a number of pupils who have autism and the school has developed a policy where they can compete with the other children in the same sports. Dromore has enjoyed success in a range of sports.
The school is also planning for the future in terms of sport and recreation with a significant investment already made in that area having acquired eight additional acres of land. Dromore NS has been providing primary education to the local area for 106 years and it is the first time for the school to be honoured.
