In Pictures: Top country music stars gather to honour late Denis Curran

Denis was known to many patrons of the Allingham Arms for his welcoming smile and warm hospitality

Stars of the Irish country music scene gathered in the Allingham Arms Hotel to play a special concert in memory of Denis Curran. Clik on the arrows to see Philip Mulligan's photos from this special evening.

Denis was known to many as for the welcoming smile and handshake that greeted them as they arrived at the hotel, known the length and breadth of the country as a country music venue. The special concert in his honour took place on Thursday evening and was a fundraiser for Donegal Hospice. Among those to take part were Nathan Carter, Mike Denver, Mick Flavin, Glór Tire Winner Jason McCahill, and many more.

Robert Mizzel who could not attend posted a message on social media saying: “I really wanted to attend this show. I’m sorry I can’t but I hope it is a great night.

“Denis was like a friend to us all over the years and he will be truly missed! Rest in peace Denis.”

Many of Denis’s former Allingham Arms colleagues joined his family and friends for a fantastic night that was a fitting tribute for a cause close to the hearts of many people in Donegal.
