The Narin, Portnoo, Rosbeg Community Co-operative Society Limited was set up in 1994. However, everyone locally knows it as the Dolmen Centre and the main building was completed in 2000. The Centre now hosts a Community Employment Scheme, a vibrant Family Resource Centre, a bustling Care of the Aged and a recently added After School service.

The Centre is home to many groups, such as a Bridge Club, Sewing and Cookery classes, Men's and Women's sheds, Mother and Toddler and Ability Rocks. It also has a community garden as well as a children's playground and an astro turf pitch.

The Dolmen Centre in conjunction with Donegal County Council and Coillte have also created a 4.2 km walkway which encircles the beautiful Bonnyglen Lough and Lough Namanlagh and the aim is to develop this walk even more in the future.

The site also hosts the recently added Thatch School and we're very proud of the work that this subcommittee has achieved. The Thatch school has been the subject of a recent news item on BBC Northern Ireland Newsline by Ciaran Tourish.

We've successfully received a County Council grant to reduce our carbon footprint and have added solar panels, battery backup and an EV Charger.

For the future, we hope to embark on a retrofitting project, publish a new website and explore some business opportunities on behalf of the community.
