Principal of Killaghtee NS Sharon Love said: “A big thank you to everyone who supported the event by buying ducks, and to the pupils and parents who put in a massive effort to help with selling the ducks. Their dedication (and mileage!) is very much appreciated.

“We're also very grateful to the volunteers who gave their time on the day to keep everything running smoothly and safely.

“Special thanks to Stuart Cassidy for kindly allowing us access to the river for the race.

“Congratulations to Mary Daly, whose duck crossed the finish line first and won the top prize of €100. The final duck home earned €50 for Danielle Gallagher.

“All proceeds from the event will go towards Killaghtee National School. Thank you again to everyone who helped make the day such a success.”
