In Pictures: Big Maggie goes down a storm at Leghowney Community Hall

The John B Keane classic was brought to the stage by new theatre group Curtain Call

Curtain Call’s production of John B Keane’s Big Maggie was very well received in Leghowney Hall, playing to full houses for its three-night run. Click on the arrows to see Thomas Gallagher's photos:

The title role was inhabited fabulously by Tracey Faulkner who also produced the play. Angela Mulreany made her directorial debut, and the cast included multi award winning JC Bonar, members of Starlight music and theatre group in St Catherine’s Vocational School, Killybegs, and actors from theatre groups across the north west.

Set in 1960s rural Ireland, Big Maggie is a compelling portrait of a woman who is determined to take control of her life following the death of her husband. The story centres on Big Maggie Polpin and her attempts to keep her family together after the death of her husband is an enduring theatre favourite.

The production was a fundraiser for three local charities,  Donegal Hospice, Solace Cancer Support Centre and Aras Mac Suibhne Patient Comfort Fund.
