Katie is the widow of Paddy McFadden, who was one of the founder members of Bonagee United. In the club’s formative years in the early 1970s, Arcade Athletic was launched by a group that included Paddy McFadden and in 1975 was christened Bonagee United. Back in November 2016, Katie had the honour of officially switching on the floodlights at Dry Arch Park and was also present at the club’s golden jubilee in May, 2025 at the Clanree Hotel.
