Sixteen teams battled it out for the privilege of becoming the inaugural winners of the Barry O'Loughlin U-9 Tournament on Saturday morning in Castle Park.
After 56 matches Letterkenny Rovers came out as the winners, beating Lagan Harps in the final. Tristar FC were Plate winners, Tristar Colts Shield winner and in a local derby Buncrana Hearts beat Cockhill Celtic to win the Bowl. Afterwards, Betty O'Loughlin handed out the prizes. Betty was delighted to get the opportunity to honour her late husband Barry with a tournament in his name. Barry was a huge Hearts supporter. The 16 spaces were gone within 48 hours of being advertised with clubs from Derry, Letterkenny and Inishowen.
