In 2008, Songs for a Summer Evening was held in The Garden Rooms of Salthill House - that event proved so popular, it was decided to run it again in 2009 and it has been running ever since and in Inver they're celebrating 15 years

It may not have felt like a summer evening but the rain didn’t get in the way of the 15th anniversary celebrations of Mountcharles Opera Festival’s ‘Songs for a Summer Evening’ in the sumptuous Coach House at Drumbeg House, Inver. Please click on the arrows to go through the gallery



Tickets for the weekend events sold out well in advance and those lucky enough to be there were welcomed with the customary glass of wine before being treated to a diverse selection of pieces by The Bluestack Chorale.

After the interval, and possibly yet more wine, Evan McGarrigle lulled the audience with his wonderful piano piece – an arrangement of A Marcello’s Adagio from Oboe Concerto in D Minor before the murderous mayhem of Act II of Puccini’s Tosca, delivered by Deborah Cunningham and Paul Martin, alongside Barry Naughton, Pat Doherty and Stephen Bell.
