While some of his St Eunan's teammates were celebrating into the wee hours on Friday night at the club's presentation night at Letterkenny's Mount Errigal Hotel, Kieran Tobin went home early with the Leo Murphy Cup final ahead.
Tobin was part of the St Eunan's senior and U-21A winning panels who were presented with their winners' medals from 2021 and on Saturday, well-slept, skippered the Donegal side to a fine 2-10 to 1-6 win over Tyrone at O'Donnell Park.
"They're fairly easy to lead," Tobin said of the county panel. "Last year the window was short with six weeks, while this year we had some really competitive league games that will stand to us. We've a good platform for the Armagh match in the championship. To get the games is huge and to take the trophy home is a bonus."
