Burt mothers and others team to play in Croke Park

The Hibernian Park club decided to create a comedic video and all the players took part in skits

Burt’s mothers and others team have been selected to play at Croke Park during half time of the LGFA All Ireland Senior Championship final between Galway and Kerry on Sunday week.

The team had to apply for this opportunity by creating a video and posting it on their social media channels. The successful applicants will play in the Sports Direct Gaelic4Mothers&Others.

The Hibernian Park club decided to create a comedic video and all the players took part in skits. Some team members pretended to be sheep shearing, in the hairdressers or sunbathing.

The video continues with the team running out from the dugout and lying on the grass to say 50 years. This was all done to celebrate 50 years of the LGFA.

“We are absolutely over the moon” manager Catriona Sweeney told DonegalLive. “ A lot of effort went into the video and we were on tenterhooks for a while.”

The post was put up on the CLG Beart social media pages and tagged the LGFA.

The travelling party will consist of Martina Cullen, Patricia Deeney, Celia Kearns, Patricia Hegarty, Anne Strain, Lisa Rainery, Aisling Strain, Tara Reddin, Andrea McLaughlin, Angela Campbell and Rosemary Tinney.

Aodh Ruadh from Ballyshannon are one of the six U-12 teams selected to play.
