Donegal Co Council has been deploying crews to keep major routes clear this morning.
However, many minor roads have significant accumulations of snow, especially on high ground.
Further rain, sleet and snow is expected but the worst of the winds associated with the storm have been in the south of the country.
Thousands of homes in Cork and Kerry are without power with gusts of more than 130km/h reported in some areas, along with heavy rain.
