Killian National School, Inver's anniversary celebrations took place at the School this afternoon, exactly 100 years to the day it opened back in 1924.
Principal Siobhan McGroarty and Fr James Sweeney, PP, Parish of Inver and Chairperson of the Board of Management welcomed all present.
There was a collection of old photos from down through the years on display. Killian Band and local musicians entertained the guests. There was a great gathering of former students. Ita Sweeney who attended the school in 1940 and her brother Patrick Boyle who attended in 1935 were also present.
The unveiling of the wall hanger took place in the peace garden, part of an Art Project in conjunction with Donegal Education Centre. It was a very memorable day and enjoyed by all.
